thanks for the zap! second day here… To me what’s kept me from using a lot of sites is providing my nsec and trusting they won’t copy. I know bunker etc etc, but that’s so involved especially when need an easy button for n00bs like me.
Has anyone attempted providing public key and you get sent the access code to login to apps via a DM for login it’s OTP but without email/sms. Just need nostr client. Requires person to have client but that’s far easier more secure than current options [ at least on surface of my highly amateur/ignorant opinion ]
Seems like only problem is having to blast to the relay the user is on, but that can be looked up right? or is there a latency/timing issue that would prevent that? or do I just need to build it to show what I mean?
Problem is you need your private key in order to sign every events. Some apps allow you to log in with your npub for read only mode.

You can try it out on nostr:npub12vkcxr0luzwp8e673v29eqjhrr7p9vqq8asav85swaepclllj09sylpugg. On Primal you can log in with multiple accounts and they let you log in with an npub. So you can log in with any npub. You can log in with mine if you want to see what my feed looks like.
Thanks! I was talking more about creating sites/apps that use npub and an access key sent via dm to establish a unique id/login but wouldn’t require a user to have email or sms etc input their keys. More thinking to do! thanks again!

Currently only LNBits' Nostr Market and nostr:nprofile1qqsd73mv4ayg306an8r2wy82dt5585lxj0ffehr4cnhlrnakxjpehwqpzamhxue69uhhyetvv9ujumn0wd68ytnzv9hxgtcakep53 use NIP-15, but Plebeian is in the process of migrating over to NIP-99 as well. nostr:nprofile1qqsfmys8030rttmk77cumprnsqqt0whmg0fqkz3xcx8798ag8rf8z3spz4mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduhsjryhsp is also working on implementing NIP-99, with nostr:nprofile1qqsfmd476kacwlqe920d9qrwazqrxpm3flwy85p2y3sj50qcexcvfmcpzfmhxue69uhhqatjwpkx2urpvuhx2ucpzemhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuurjd9kkzmpwdejhgqgkwaehxw309ahx7um5wghrs6edd3skytnrdaksxfatgv and Amethyst both already supporting it too!
