there is a special place in hell for people that put weird artificial limits into their software systems

It is for your own safety.

the ridiculously long corridor at 99%

The hamsters can only run so fast bro! 😂

hey mate are you going to be at cheatcode in Bedford?

Zero, one, Infinity!

I've been caught by this myself. If you design a REST API with URL parameters, you'll eventually reach the maximum size of an address in the browser. If you don't cap these parameters, the user might end up with an invalid request.

Then just don't use GET but POST

what about the uninformed zealots that defend these limits because they are a "fan"atic of ?

hell realm for them too? 🤣

Hola Gigi podrías opinar si te gusta?

What's the idea? Do an advanced search interface that's better what nostr band has?

The strangest are the banks and other financial apps that limit your password length.

I wouldn't mind a limit of 100 characters or so. Enough to fit in unbreakable entropy. But the limits are usually around 16 chars. WTF, are they not hashing the passwords?

My fiat accounting system lowered the limit of bank-transactions I could process to a couple dozen a month and offered me a great 'upgrade' to increase that number by like 10 for just double the monthly price.

Can't wait to exit fiat all-together...

My fiat bank has an upper limit on password length and bans special characters. It's not enough to get 128 bits of entropy.

Those limits are indeed so stupid
