We dropped SoundCloud and Apple Podcast embed support today and some other ones a few days ago.
You can enable/disable embeds on the Settings / Content menu.

Absolutely. It's just that embeds are not too native and not visible to all users. RSS-bridge solutions bring the tweets to notes. It's not ideal either.
But as long as things are discussed 💫
Maybe #nostr clients can capture a thumbnail when the tweet is linked, then it's fully native? Dynamic embeds are not needed for this to work. As it is now, it's super frustrating to have to click through to Twitter's webpage to see what #[6] is sharing.
