I kept a rigorous gratitude practice for quite a while and it was a marvelous exercise.

Mainly because after a couple of weeks you have to really dig deep to find something to be grateful for you hadn’t said before, which primes you to be on the lookout for things to be grateful for.

We are where our attention is.

Yep! I agree completely. My initial post is an oversimplification, but thinking about what I’m grateful for always pulls me out of a rut and gives me the courage and strength to keep pushing forward.
