Anybody have success air layering blueberries?

I’m experimenting with peat wrapped in tin foil after removing cambium to see if they’ll root.

My wife said we needed about 40 more bushes for the kids, and at $25+/per plant at the nursery I’m not trying to drop $1k lol

They’re ugly but hopefully they also deter birds..

I have not done it yet, so let us know how it goes.

This was the year of the strawberry. We now have multiple varieties of everbearing an junebearing plants in beds at the bases of a bunch of trees. The bare root plants are doing even better than some of the ones we dug up locally. I think we will be ordering more next year just to pot up and sell.

You could do the same with cutting from new blueberry varieties you buy. They could pay for themselves. Nick Ferguson was just talking about rooting the softwood cuttings on the survival podcast recently.
