Bitcoin question.

If you’re not using your own node, but want to connect to a more “trusted” node than whichever default your watching-wallet software chooses, where do you start?

I recall nostr:npub1ltt9gry09lf2z6396rvzmk2a8wkh3yx5xhgkjzzg5znh62yr53rs0hk97y you had mentioned an electrum node or maybe one by Blockstream that you recommend?

Electrum wallet can recommend a node to connect, but it also allows to enter a different one.

That’s what I thought. In this case I’m using sparrow which also recommends a few privacy-focused nodes. Giving it a shot 🤙

You can connect to mine, or

Electrum.bitaroo.net

Or emzy's

Sparrow's public node drop down list has them there

Thanks ser 🤙

Question while I’ve got you, if you’re still online…

The Address Explorer on ColdCard is showing me different addresses than I’m seeing in Sparrow.

I used the MicroSD to import xpub, left the settings as default (native segwit, etc.), but when I open the explorer on the CC and compare those addresses to the receive addresses that Sparrow is generating, they don’t seem to match.

Doubt my machine or software is compromised but I’d rather know now than before I transfer funds…

Scratch that, I think I’m good. The address shown in sparrow’s “recieve” screen didn’t match the CC, but the list of receive addresses look good.

Does sparrow “scramble” the order of receiving addresses, or something like that?

No, it wouldn't scramble
