Lets have a discussion on the continuity of the church and what that means for protestant faith.

I am a protestant Christian and have done much soul searching over the years about this subject. If there is a "true" church that has been preserved from the beginning, which would it be? I am not referring to the worldwide congregation but rather the organization/denomination.

If not, then at what point did "The Church" deviate from the truth? What did the early believers think? The early church fathers?

It went totally off the rails in 325 AD. Since then, you have to work to find it. If its easy, that ain't it.

I assume you refer to the first council of Nicaea.

What specifically causes you to hold this opinion? Any particular doctrine?

I don’t believe there is a church that has been the “true” church since Christ.

Which is why I believe in a restored church.

I do not feel the diverging from the truth was intentional. It was due to a lack of people who filled the role of prophets or chief apostle.

Best we have is eastern orthodoxy. There are records dating back quite some time.

Changes likely have happened, especially when language changes, but the records are strong and tradition is tradition.

If you haven't, I suggest you attend Orthodox Saturday night Vespers followed by Sunday martins and Divine litergy.

See what it feels like and talk to the people after services. Ask questions.

And by nature of protestantism, you can't really expect continuity, though I'd bet Lutherans are the closest.

Did anyone consider that perhaps it doesn't have specific buildings or a name?

I swear this branding thing has broken people...

In fact, having specific buildings & a name makes something vulnerable to infiltration & corruption...

Perhaps you are looking for something more decentralised & harder to target...

Something politics can't get a grasp on.

I am surprised they're was not more interest in this.
