the reason is that our GI systems use salt to make HCl- and NaCO3+ (sodium carbonate)
i am right now in cravage for some crabs ... cardbs... carbs... and i am going to cave in and go get a stake and chippers...
with shitloads of salts on top
the reason why the kidneys dump sodium is because you burn them making bile
and HCl is always helpful, magnesium and ascorbic acid help with that side of the equation, they soften up proteins before the bile tears them up
