Yes that is possible, however I feel we do more damage in our impatience.

In my fiat job I give people estimates all the time, and it never ceases to amaze me that even when highlighting, circling, underlining estimates, people still miss it.

And I think it’s because people can’t see what they can’t see. No one can make it to bitcoin, nostr, or any other better place in life by someone else’s desire, they have to arrive there willingly.

I wish that weren’t the case and people listened to persuasive rhetoric and logic, but that’s not been my experience.

While I think the work we do is remarkable and absolutely necessary for increasing the value and usefulness of our community, we have to allow people to arrive in their time.

The fact that this community exists is already proof of success.

Nostr has a positioning problem and if we don’t fix it don’t expect too many users. It can grow over time like mastadon if that’s what we want. Yes we can wait assuming there is constant funding.

I’m more interested in building apps that don’t position as decentralized alternatives. Something that’s actually better and compelling.

There are probably all sorts of opportunities to attract people from certain communities and we should make the effort to do so. It’s not rushing, just awareness and good apps.

I like that, not trying to be an alternative to something else because then you automatically compare the first to the second.

Nostr has the ability to be better than legacy solutions, not only in privacy and free speech, but in actually user experience also.

I’ve got mad respect for you karnage, no doubt in my mind we will obliterate the siloed internet if we keep marching forward 💪🏻

What do you think about the business advertising space? Creating and maintaining nostr accounts for companies that can offer news releases and special incentives for users following them on nostr?
