Is it just me or does liking feel braindead, meaningless, automatic reaction, while zapping a specific amount of your choosing to a specific post feels meaningful, awareness, caring and thought out?

Yes, with the caveat of using them at the end of a conversation.

Hitting that like feels like a final acknowledgement.

Here’s what I mean:

“Hey Ronin. I dig me some chanbara.”

“Oh snap Pleb, you get down on Kurosawa!? Zapped!” [⚡️]

“Like Kurosawa, I make mad films, 'kay, I don't make films, but if I did they'd have a samurai. Zapped back!” [⚡️]

Stay cool pleb. [🤙]

Stay cool Nakadai. [🤙]

Seriously though, how else do you know in a quick and easy way that someone has read the last note in a conversation?

I’m on the fence. I’m trying to break free from past habits, but also trying to steal man the argument for their validity, because I don’t feel that every time I like something I’m doing it out of habit.
