I struggle with this, too.
I find it difficult to figure out what is true, with regards to issues you listed, like a climate.
The truth exists, I believe. There is an absolute truth that is independent from our opinions.
But to find out what the truth is, and form a conclusive opinion, with a high level of certainty, for these complex issues, would require a tremendous effort from a regular person like me.
And so the question I ask myself, do I care to invest time in researching the climate or aliens out vaccines?
Do these things impact me? Some do, in a more or less direct way.
Can I do anything about them myself? Close to nothing, in terms of impact of the actions I can take.
So I think, perhaps I should "just live".
Just focus on what's in my control and influence. My health, habits, family, friends, savings.
Do I completely ignore the news? No but, I guess I'm seeing the right balance and approach to this.
Even if some of these things impact me directly one day, which they may, me spending a lot of time now worrying about it or researching it, may not be the best use of time, right? Or is it?
