The probability that they traveled light years to get here is in question, as is the idea that they would crash or otherwise turn over advanced technology to us. Why has science and tech progressed so slowly despite having access to such great technology? Shouldn't fusion have been solved like, 40 years ago? We still have poor solutions for atmospheric filtering for spacecraft, wouldn't a species that traveled for probably hundreds of years have decent carbon scrubbers? What about spacecraft in general, why are we just building bigger and bigger rocket engines despite having these miracle drives that are trans medium? Why do we subject pilots and astronauts to extreme g-forces, these alien crafts seem to have far higher accelerations that anything we have, what's the tech on these crashed ships that prevents the pilots from splattering the inside of the cockpit?
