itโs sucky cause itโll divide the community wether you think it will or it wonโt
not everyone can make it to both, so theyโll have to pick one (this is only accounting for 2 in one year, there can be more)
99% of nostriches see the conferences held by nostr.world as the โOFFICIALโ nostr conferences, so now you gotta compete against that and their star studded panels, and the money donated to them that you wonโt have access to for booking of the venue. Sure we can try to crowdfund it, but since it hasnโt been done n you have no blueprint be prepared to encounter challenges that need new solutions.

How to fund it I think is the biggest challenge. There are plenty of devs working on smaller projects though, even some here in Australia, so while we might not get the โbig nameโ devs coming there could still be plenty of interesting content.
Plus could get at other speakers who arenโt strictly talking about Nostr tech but are more aligned with free speech etc.
Btc++ is heavily dev focused, nostr could be an add on to that
Understandably australia is far away. But it doesnโt mean nostr conferences cant piggy back on existing dev centric conferences such as btc++. If you want devs at a nostr conference then we should hit up nostr:npub1e0z776cpe0gllgktjk54fuzv8pdfxmq6smsmh8xd7t8s7n474n9smk0txy , donโt have to depend on Odell and crew.

doesnโt really solve the issue for doing it in Australia though.. was gonna be nice to have Assange be there, but yeah piggy backing off existing conferences is proven to work, wonder if thereโs one in Australia that we can piggyback off of.

Personally iโd like to see less dependence on just odell and crew picking/directing nostr conferences but maybe in due time this will happen
