Maybe there's room for different terminology based on intent?
Boostagrams have a more targeted context. With a message sent it creates some enhanced feedback and time position in a feed also ties that together for what was boosted.
Zaps on the other hand are more about putting value on the line of a like/thumbs up but no dialogue
It's funny - when i figured out where the boost messages worked in podcasting 2.0, I thought that this is how 'pay to say' social media might look.
10 sats min to record your comment or like. More if you want it prioritised. It wasn't a great user experience with that lens on (love the pods element). It can be a while between opening fountain for me.
I'm now less inclined to boost/comment on pods directly within the pod casting platform & more inclined to zap within Nostr for the pod. I don't know why - nostr feels more personable to me.

I think Marty was zapped 500k sats+ on Nostr in the past week.

Podcast 2.0 creators should always weigh the return cumulative reach on all protocols vs āI only received this many sats posting on fountainā because so many of us are here and extract value from all platforms.
Zaps, now that they are live are going to lead to a lot of fake accounts on nostr, especially fake accounts of good looking women. Itās going to be the equivalent of the Asian females dming bitcoiners on Twitter. IMO, of course.
Thatās where relay filtering come in.
I like to think Plebs are much smarter than the average degen.
Youād be surprised. Bitcoiners tend to be over generous and fall for scammers easily from what I have witnessed over the years. Relay filtering wonāt prevent people from making fake female accounts to harvest zaps. Itās already happening and itās been less than two weeks of Zaps going mainstream on Nostr.
This will be the new creator model.
Imagine if Rogan joins Nostr after his Spotify deal.
He can run a paid relay where he posts, run a lightning node to control all finances, control his own distribution, and be connected to monetisation for everything he does here.
No-one can fuck with him. No-one can get him boycotted. No ad publishers to keep happy.
Thatās going to sound pretty appealing to a lot of people. We just need a few to show the way and prove it can work first and then thereās little reason why someone like him wouldnāt come here.
100% I've zapped about 500k sats ($130) in the last 2 weeks via nostr mostly for Value for Value type services received outside of Nostr.
About 15k of that was for pods that I recently consumed either to the pod caster or the guest (I didn't send shit to Marty BTW š).
Nostr allows me to easily & anonymously 'even the score' from people I've not easily been able to remunerate previously. Reciprocity is in our DNA but those giving don't necessarily feel comfortable taking payment. I've enjoyed doing it & this is the first time I've even mentioned that I've done it. I even opened a 5m sat channel from my node to WoS to make this all easier in the future.
Next step is acquiring some more non KYC sats before I drain the outbound liquidity on my node.
