For upgrading from core to knots:
1. Go into system
2. Click the manage text 5 times to get into dev mode
3. Go to marketplace, community registry, knots, and reinstall
4. Then after you need to go into the config settings for each service that you are using (electrs, LND, etc) and click save.
That last part what the issue that I was encountering. The new RPC was not being read because hitting the save button again restarts the application I guess, even though you may have left it on default settings already.
