“…something comparable to WeChat in China” is a nod to how WeChat / CBDCs in China have completely enslaved and destroyed millions of people. There is a burgeoning generation of homeless there who failed to meet credit scores, so now can’t bank, can’t rent, can’t work. There are countless vids of young people living on the streets because WeChat/CBDC/Credit Scores completely, completely fucked their lives over.
Coinbase is positioning itself for this in the US. Because Coinbase is now a US Gov’t affiliate entity.
Anyone too retarded to self-custody will have to answer to their homeless children for their failure as a human being.
The US lacks the ability to force a WeChat, but may have the ability to force a CBDC. What Coinbase is doing is in no way an independent decision. Zero chance this is a non-Gov’t agenda.
