once again, as i start to research something new, i encounter the “influencers” around the thing…who all have YouTube channels which all sound the same, use the same materials, use the same lighting, and the same fonts.

They dress the same, talk the same, do the same videos, and really just are the same.

I also encounter the “experts” who above all else, need you to know they are more expert than you, and you must measure up to their expert standards and methods to reach true expert status.

Me, well, I am looking for the hidden paths, which go around both of these people. I am looking for the explorers, who dont talk much. You have to work to find them, and then have to work to keep up with them. But what they show you is invaluable.

I think it depends on what you are researching. Take watches as an example. I often use the ideas, and expertise of YouTubers as they are always on top of new releases from some trusted brands that I have come to enjoy and trust. It saves me from having to scour their catalogues, from different countries and all of their limited releases. It’s the same for when I’m shopping for cars, knives, or fountain pens. Yes they all sound the same, they look the same, use the same intros etc, but I always find something I may not have, in a much shorter amount of time. Influencers are just advertisers, and they can be helpful when consumer a product. Now the consumption in ideas, are a whole different ball game.

100%

They all have agendas, and their agenda influences your life in ways you are likely not aware of by consuming their content.
