Nothing wrong with algo’s as long as you know you’re using an algo. I would welcome personalizeable filtered views, for example “show me the most zapped posts of the last 6 hours”
Someone previously suggested having some sort of plug in mechanism for algos. I wouldn’t mind that as you could then experiment to find one that suits what you want your feed to look like.

Why follow the rat race?
I think quality content will get visibility without algos as people will follow those creating that content, engage with it and will repost it. The nostrich community is the algo.

Could someone technically build a client capable of an engagement algos ? Maybe even running locally with each user having control over the algo knobs and switches
