Nostr Nests hasn't improved in a while. We've been promising features for a while. I'm sorry for that. The fact is that #[0] is our main developer and he's busy working on his own projects.

We have a roadmap of features we'd like to roll out, but it seems we're coming to a point where we may need to create bounties or bring on additional developers to meet the needs of our users and complete our roadmap.

We'd like to add the following features:

* NIP-07 login

* Profile metadata loaded via Nostr

* Zaps for people on stage

* Public chat for each Nest created

Additionally, in the future, we'd like to add more advanced features surrounding monetization of Nests. This includes paying for custom/vanity URLs, paying for Nests that reach a threshold of users, paying for Nests after X amount of time. We want to keep Nests free to use for small groups, but larger groups that utilize all of our resources and bandwidth will have to pay a small fee.

reality is that for a lot of people who make a living in that world, the presence of algorithms means they can make a reliable business out of this.

censorship resistance is nice and all but the lack of one algorithm means they can't run the same kind of business

maybe they'll be able to adapt to more organic content distribution, but the winners of platforms will likely prefer to stay winning in censoring platforms

People are going to come for the features, and that they are unique features they can’t find elsewhere.

Zaps is one such reason. A single key to a whole ecosystem of useful micro apps is another. Instant global translation might be yet another.

As for developers, the fact it’s entirely open, permissionless, and fast-to-start wins all.
