Tell it to Russians that it is ridiculous. Almost every average Russian wants a new Soviet Union. They are mad that they don’t have a huge influence on their neighbors and what is their proposed solution? “Let us attack them (Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Poland, Georgia and others) and conquer them and absorb them into Russia and destroy their culture, history and language”.

Dude, I am Russian. We only tell jokes about Latvia and Estonia, sometimes being surprised that they have Nazi divisions marching on holidays.

I don't even know what to say about the rest. Russia is a multinational country. To tell the truth, it is not easy to find a Russian here. It is simply impossible to imagine that such a heterogeneous society could destroy any cultures and languages.
