I regretfully listened to a discussion with a bcasher recently who wrote a book for Roger Ver. It was cringe, but it was interesting.

The guy made several mildly interesting comments, a ton of stupid ones, and also seemed to be of the opinion that 'nobody in bitcoin cares about means of exchange anymore. '

This could have been a self serving straw man argument, or it could be true because all the real bitcoiners came to nostr and he's never been here. (My own self serving bias)

I'm not sure because I haven't been on Xitter in a few years.

What's the perception over there? Is everyone deep throating MSTR and ignoring layer two?

Ver's book was ghost written?

The main authors name is on the cover in a much smaller font.

What a scam.

For me Bitcoin is a SoV, a medium of exchange and the unit of account that matters.

I have several friends, service providers and family members that I actually do transact in Bitcoin with.

I have major beef with people who make sweeping generalizations about something like Bitcoin and its use as medium of exchange. There are millions of Bitcoiner’s globally and they’re all using it how they see fit, including as a MoE. It’s actually very convenient especially cross-boarder.

People want to simplify things into one sentence, especially when that sentence serves their interests and reenforces their bias(es). It’s retarded and shows intellectually dishonesty and/or that they have an agenda imo.

Exactly bitcoin is about freedom you use it how you see fit, there is no right or wrong way to use bitcoin.

afaict most people are using tether for MoE

and everybody uses USD for UoA

Yes 🤙

there's some talk about Core devs pulling stupid shit but it's mostly cancer over there
