that's cause nostr clients generate bolt11 invoices for zaps which any lightning wallet can pay. cash app does not support paying lightning addresses directly.

Many merchants print out a QR code with their lightning address or LNURLs IRL. Cash App and Muun are the only lightning wallets I know of that are not able to pay these. It’s the reason I made https://www.lnurlpay.com. Didn’t think I’d still need to keep that app running in 2024.
