I'm now convinced that the call waiting music + the "please hold" message was a deliberate design choice. They'd rather you have an aneurysm listening than you cancel their service 🥴

We are currently experiencing higher than normal call volumes, because what we consider to be normal is zero.

I am under this same assumption! Companies will do anything to reduce churn.

Indubitably, it's the same reason they make it hard to cancel subscriptions on websites. They hope you'll just give up and let the charges keep coming.

Even worse is when they stick you with AI as the only form of customer service. That tells me it's time to find another vendor.
