Reminds me of the "repressed memory" myth. In the 90s there was a short lived mania where adults were convincing children that they had been abused. Parents were falsely accused, even losing custody and facing criminal prosecution. Turned out it was psychological manipulation. So there is definitely a precedent for kids being used by adults in this way.

The state needs mindless soldiers. They will take them from you before they are fully formed adults.
