Mints are custodians that can rug-pull at any moment no matter how excellent they are rated on this website. FTX was also top rated before it was not.

100%. Personally I wouldn't even allow my wallet to accept ecash from a 1 star mint and even if I had 5 star ecash I wouldn't hold a balance more than a few hundred thousand sats.

I would allow receiving from any mint but instantly swap it into my own mint or LN.

I'm really wondering when we will see an open ecash swapping service where users offer their ecash to be exchanged with ecash on other mints at a rate determined by the amount of risk posed by the mint.

For when you want to move between mints but for whatever reason you don't want to go over LN.

yea makes sense if you don't want to use the benefits ecash offers.

I want to use the benefits of ecash and being able to swap it instantly is one of those.

What would your ideal own mint look like? (i.e. a Cashu mint you share with a few friends)

Yes, strictly "Uncle Jim" model. I would custody for my friends and family, ideally with multi-sig. Or single-sig for the core family's needs on the go.

Cashu or fedimint is an interesting choice when combined with #nostr identity and discovery.

Would you rather trust a Cashu mint rated 5 stars by your 7 friends or a fedimint run by 7 guardians with no ratings from your friends? 🤔

Why do people like mutiny so much?
