Cashu or fedimint is an interesting choice when combined with #nostr identity and discovery.

Would you rather trust a Cashu mint rated 5 stars by your 7 friends or a fedimint run by 7 guardians with no ratings from your friends? 🤔

Depends how "friends" is defined. If it means "people I follow" then I don't think that's a high enough bar. Perhaps if I could designate specific people I follow for that purpose, but my general follows list is too arbitrary.

As for the 7 guardians, it would depend on who they are and how decentralized their connections are with each other.

My sentiments exactly

Interesting. Right now we just use people you follow, but we could use nostr lists to make it more specific.

It's possible I'm overthinking it but I just know I'm not overly careful about who I follow. I would be far more careful about which of those people I would trust to deem a mint as trustworthy with my money.

I agree with this.

You could make an argument that both have different use cases that would support one over the other. I think if you are going to have frequent unrelated transactions Cashu is good and if you have a targeted plan or collaboration fedimint may be more ideal

both for small funds r fine
