I don't particularly care about a private company censoring someone.

it seems par for the course, president or not. expected

This should be the expectation now.

I hope so.

I keep saying that I left Twitter for good BEFORE Musk's takeover. It was bluehaired, leftofascist, Hillary-maxxing censorship that drove me away from it.

Had I simply waited them out, I would probably still be there now.

Twitter was always between a rock and a hard place with the government. Jack also funded Nostr in response after stepping down. The platform's content moderation decisions, regardless of their merit, demonstrated the fundamental issues with centralized control over global discourse.

I thought Jack did a great job of riding that line, but the core problem remained. X is now essentially an openly partisan platform and state-sponsored social media, with Elon banning people for calling him out and disagreeing with him. And yes, this is why we Nostr.

Well said. And from research I’ll say fax 📠.

Freedom of speech 🎤

Not freedom of reach

Again, I believe Elon is burning X down from the inside.

Centralized platforms, including central banks, always operate with conflicting interests and counterproductive objectives. When technology communication was slow and localized, you could arbitrage for the better, but equally for the worse. Digital technologies ripped away that insulation and now we are seeing institutions break down that were successful for centuries. Twitter is an example. Same will happen to Meta, Google, etc. Just a matter of time.

Private companies bend the knee when it’s politically in their best interest.

True. Nature is healing
