Nostr & Bluesky are two of the most exciting projects in social 💜💙

The general public has little to no understanding of what it means for the social media experience to exist on open source decentralized protocols.

But Bluesky and Nostr will allow the GP to experience it all firsthand.

This is really exciting stuff. Honestly, nothing beats being early. (Granted I’m a little later than most folks here given that I joined both of these protocols around the same time —roughly 2 1/2 weeks ago 😅)

The experience on each of these protocols is vastly different and they serve different audiences for the most part, currently. But I’m sure they will continue to generalize and diversify over time.

It was cool to see #[0] address a lot regarding his stance on how social media should exist and who should own it 🫂

Following the fluctuating state of Twitter during the reign of Elon, many have found plenty of opportunity to condemn Jack. But what is probably more productive is to look to the future to see how lessons can be learned from past mistakes and how things can change. After all, hindsight is 20/20. Most people that have harsh things to say about how Jack handled the transfer of power of Twitter don’t have a clue. It’s not every day that one founds and successfully runs one of the most monumental, culturally relevant companies in history. (I’m wishfully thinking there might be a documentary or docuseries of sorts detailing the rise and transformation of Twitter 👀)

I’m really inspired by and proud of the leaders, builders, team members, developers, investors, and community members that make these ecosystems sustainable and make these experiences worthwhile.

Here’s to continuing to push the limits of what’s possible as the world of social continues to evolve 🤝

What are your thoughts on Bluesky? What are your thoughts on Nostr? And how do you see these protocols revolutionizing the social experience?

#Bluesky is essentially the open source decentralized version of #Twitter, built on the AT Protocol. It’s in beta right now and probably doesn’t have more than 100,000 users at the moment. I’m liking it so far despite some of the whininess lol

If you happen to find yourself with an extra invite code, I’d love to check it out.

I haven’t gotten any invite codes yet. They’ve become even more strict with handing them out, so I don’t even know when I will get one

No worries! Appreciate the response!

What clients do you use to access bluesky?

I use the iOS mobile app
