Recently joined a gym, in large part so that I could use the sauna. As a swimmer I was aware that the length of time you can actually hold your breath is separate from when your body will start physically manifesting anxiety about the fact that you are holding your breath. I have never experienced that in any other context, but apparently a similar thing happens when you get overheated & it requires a similar effort to calm it. Kinda neat 🙃

I never got over that aspect of saunas.

joining a gym puts skin in the game. on those lazy days, remind yourself that you paid for the gym membership and you need to get your money’s worth. 💪

I'm just going every weekday morning no matter what. Somehow it's way easier to consistently start my day at the gym, than just at the house.

I love swimming and the sauna. Such a great combo . When you hop in the hot tub after the sauna and then go back in it it feels even hotter too

Also check out sauna hats you can last an extra 5-10 minutes in them with one since it keeps your head cooler
