zaps are a bit of a distraction imo.

i've seen lots of "gm" notes get much larger zaps than some really profound insights. not really proof of work to me...

If you look at the original post, Corndalorian’s meme, one of the parts is zapping friends. When I say GM to some friends I’ll zap a big amount for fun. We usually zap eachother like that. Different kind of greeting for different npubs/friends. It’s not mandatory at all, just an explanation of why you could see large zaps on GMs sometimes

that makes sense—zaps are fun and interesting, but not the main attraction. at least to me they're not.
