American Attorney “You don't really own property”

“I just paid my winter property tax bill — It’s $4,875. That's for half of the year — We don't actually really own this property. We don't. We're paying discounted rent “ to the government

“For the Property, it’s around $10,000 a year. We're in Oakhams, Meridian Township, Michigan”

“So I don't know who voted for this. Over year after year, it goes up every single year by a few hundred bucks. And this is where we're at. I don't, you know, there's no legal remedies for it. You can request a hearing. They always affirm it. I'm an attorney. I get calls about this. There's really nothing you can do about it. So, I don't know.

I remember the first time I heard someone say, “You don’t own your house — the bank does.” It took me a while to really understand what that meant: if you stop paying your mortgage, the bank takes the house.

But there’s a deeper layer most people miss. Because property taxes are usually bundled into mortgage payments, it’s easy to overlook the fact that even after the mortgage is paid off, you’re still paying — this time to the government. Stop paying property taxes, and they’ll take the house too.

so in bulgaria its the same, its the same in all EU countries i suppose, however gypsies on the contrary don't pay these taxes and they also don't go through the "legal" system of buying and regulating it for construction, NO they just claim the land and build, all of them. This way entire neighborhoods have been created, on top they don't spend a dime for property tax or electricity, nada. Tell me now, who is more free?

PS: They cant sue them because they dont even have legal documents like ID.
