Interesting one I haven’t seen before, but no…it was written a few years after the collapse of auroracoin, like 2017-2020 or thereabouts…
Using the auroracoin example, it concluded that since bitcoin is global, countries issuing their own shitcoin would never really work, since it could just be traded, globally, for bitcoin

nope that's not it...I remember it was a real Bitcoin article, nothing about blockchain or anything, it was an economic example of how states could never create a copy of Bitcoin and put national borders around it.
Or maybe I'm hallucinating and I need to write it myself 😂
no the article I'm looking for was more a retrospective, probably around 2019 or so...showing how national crypto is pointless because it is borderless
