If you’re creating content for nostr, I encourage you to spend time experimenting and learning which approaches work and which ones don’t work. It will take trial and error, and you’ll find that some of the “content” that gets engagement on other social networks falls flat here. On most social media you are trying to appease an algorithm that is designed to sell advertising. On nostr you are making genuine connections with genuine people. Things can sometimes move a little more slowly around here, more like normal real world things do. Enjoy it and experiment and be real with people, and most importantly don’t give up. It’s worth it. 💜🚀

I was actually just wondering about this. When using the market option to list an item for sell on Amethyst, it doesn't show up on Primal, neither do the hashtags. Is there a better way than double posting on each clients ?

Marketplace is only a needed function when you already know what you want to buy or when you constantly browse for new finds around you. Things means that clients that only do marketplace can easily be better than any social media first app.

I post because I like Nostr and I believe in its mission. I don't have anything useful to bring, but I will post whatever I can, especially when it's a little slow. I like old buildings and that's what people will get. Also dumb opinions...

I’m curious what some of the differences you’ve noticed are? I’ve definitely felt the same thing but can’t always put on exactly what is different. Sometimes actual great content gets no attention and other times real basic shit blows up. Offering sats as rewards seems to work well but you lose a lot of the genuine interactions with all the bots. It sure is fun to watch this ecosystem figure itself out.
The difference is that nostr feels more human and social, whereas other networks feel performative and fake. On nostr, the people are the algorithm. It is the people that find what they like and share it, zap it, etc. This “people algo” if you can call it that, rewards people and content that form genuine and authentic connections with other people, because that’s what people want. In contrast, on networks like X or IG, you have a centrally controlled algorithm that pushes/rewards certain content and certain users over others to maximize views and impressions for advertisers, because that’s what they advertisers want, and those platforms need the advertising revenue.
Yeah this is bang on for sure. I love the “people algo” phrase, you can certainly feel the genuine interactions such as this one.
Yes, I'm noticing it. The more you are yourself, the more you are rewarded. I had started badly a few months ago but then I understood it. I love nostr 💜
Yes absolutely, authenticity and being real is what “works” here. Being fake and influencer-y is a way to quickly get ignored here.

It’s not a business model. It’s an environment, and it more closely mirrors the real world. It takes work to build a network of connections and a reputation among them, and there are fewer shortcuts. But it’s also more rewarding and sustainable in the long run, because you are less dependent on a “platform” that can shut you down at a moment’s notice.
Fair enough, I agree on that as the foundational basis and that small community feel that is here now can be protected and bunkered so to speak on its own private relays but ultimately-
V4V networks fundamentally thrive when liquidity is injected into them- circular economies don’t work without rationality as a basis
Also, I’ve got a handful of athletes, artists, and influencer types just waiting for me to say I trust this network

For the "error" part it is not only about the purpose of a note.
But i also had some "network" problem. for example :
- Sometimes i can't like a post on primal (website), it just fail silently... idk why.
- Sometimes i can't zap someone else (perhaps the cashu wallet is not really connected or the one i want to zap don't allow it ? no error message)
- Sometimes it doesn't work anymore (i used to use coracle to manage relay, since few weeks it is completely unusable, coracle can't reach the network and is buggy, i can log but don"t see my notes, replies..., idk why, update, relay issues...).
Anyway #nostr advantages worth this because i am sure notes will stay here saved, without any algorithm trying to push them away.

Nostr = interactions
Short form meta = engagement
Replies on nostr = growth
Replies in the short form meta = growth for the creator
Basically just invert it, and you’ll be fine. In terms of creating content, just make the content inclusive of the viewer, so they can participate rather than spectate/consume.
Bigger accounts like yourself with consistently awesome content really help that slow process.
For me, theres a dozen or maybe 20 npubs that I consistently have engagements with.
So what I’m trying to say is, thank you sir 🫡 - for helping me stay engaged and have funny content to fill the gaps.
I'm not long on nostr yet and I don't understand it really. it seems like I don't really see the content the people post which I follow. Perhaps I make something wrong.
what client are you using?
I'm using primal. I can't install nostr on my phone and I tried amethyst but the app is kicking me out as soon as I want to log in.
hm I also am on Primal most of the time, you could try Damus if on iOS.
I would recommend just trying to follow more people!
