Keine Ahnung was ihr immer gegen Gold habt. Wenn das Bargeld mal weg ist dann ist Gold eine wunderbare anonyme Möglichkeit etwas physisches gegen etwas digitales zu tauschen. Bei mir im Laden habe ich auch schon Altgold gegen Bitcoin getauscht. Beides hat seitdem an Wert gewonnen. Ich denke es ist nicht verkehrt ein paar Goldmünzen zu den Bitboxen in den Safe zu legen.

This Hammer is a special one. The German name is Ziselierhammer. In English it would be chasing hammer but that's not very specific and i'm very unsatisfied with this name because there are plenty of hammers which would be used as chasing hammer. It's like this tale from the Innuit which have 29 words for snow (not fact back checked) and there is a lack of names for my tools in the English language. Please proof me wrong would love to learn if there are other words than chasing. 😊

This kind of hammer is used for smithing patterns, ornamentals and other forms in metal. Zieselieren is a very old technique and not very common anymore.

I can't open the video but the guy you can see there is not the german farming Minister. Our new farming Minister is a trained butcher and he dont want to restrict meat consumption. We had a farming Minister who said in 2020 he wants to reduce convenience products in supermarkets and he said people should eat less meat and if you eat meat you should eat it in high quality.I agree that we have too much crap in our supermarkets and often the cheap meat is nothing somebody should consume. We are keeping our bees in Zander frames. We just take a frame without middlewall and without wires and they make only drones in this. We cut that out and freeze it to kill the drones in the most gentle way. If you open the cells you can see the varroa sitting on the drones, they prefer drone cells because they are bigger.

We also use formalic acid in August after the Summerharvest. And in December we use oxalic acid. For formalic acid it needs to be 15 degree or warmer. Oxalic we take in winter when the Queen doesn't breed.

I'm interested how beekeeping is going on in Alabama. How often do you harvest honey per year? And you don't have winter right? So do the bees ever make a break and don't breed? Is Varroa a Problem in your area?
