I’d like to understand to what extent regulators could impose an ID verification checkpoint to all citizens of a nation in order to access the Internet. Wouldn’t such regulations absolutely put an end to online anonymity for the all citizens of this nation? Are there any nation already imposing such a dystopian system? That’s relatively easy:
(1) you get your connection to your home internet provider only after submitting your ID
(2) public wifi access require registering by using two independent types of ID
(3) access to Internet is provided only via a gov server
(4) etc etc etc
