Bitcoin is relatively popular now (in minds and conversation), but it hasn't "scaled". Two very different things. Most "hold" their Bitcoin on centralized exchanges with custodians.

Bitcoins value prop doesn't extend to white markets so the vast majority of Bitcoin activity is irrelevant
