The p2p philosophy of Monero is different from the hodl philosophy of Bitcoin maxis.
That doesn't mean that the Monero community doesn't want $XMR to appreciate in value against corrupt state money, because then more goods can be purchased and each monetary unit in Monero yields more to use it in a circular economy.
