I don't think it is dead. I just think that are big gaping flaws in the design. It is a technology in its infancy. It is too easy to lose sats, or get them stuck in limbo.

This has a lot of work to be done before it can be a good layer 2 for bitcoin.

As of right now I believe that on-chain is the best option for long term stability.
