I didn't realise it took so long to synchronise a bitcoin node...

With today it is already seven days since the start.

Perhaps, but once you’re in there…you’ll be in there like “butt hair” 😆🤣🤣🤣

Just you wait... 😅

😵😵😵

I guess I have a good connection, my initial sync took about 3 days. What kind of hardware are you running?

Macmini late 2014 4gb ram

Around the same setup as me, I'm running on a 4th gen i5 4GB HP workstation, and a 1TB SATA SSD. I would like more RAM, I'm already running into limitations there. Otherwise Umbrel is running great on this old machine.

🤔 I have one of those laying around. Can you share the instructions you've been following?

Ho semplicemente installato Ubuntu in un SSD esterno da 1tb. Il Mac mini fa solo da processore.

You’re validating an entire monetary network. There’s 14 years of history to process in sequential order!

This is a bit slow, indeed. #[2] has performed numerous detailed tests over the years. His resources site is a great read for anything #Bitcoin https://blog.lopp.net

Yes I'm at about the same on a RPi. If you can turn anything else unnecessary off that will help.

Hardware influencia bastante tbm, em meu HD eu nem consegui sincronizar, travou nos 40 por cento e não ia mais. Já no ssd foram 4 dias e ele atingiu os 100 por cento.

It's worth it.

There are some things in the works to make this way faster, but for now it's hard.

was 4 days for me

but i know someone who had 14 days

something w connection/firewall settings

cant recall🙈

That's become it goes over tor. Tor network is really slow for downloading large files.

For me 11 days
