something i want to do is make a personal relay that automatically syncs new notes from follows and can be your own personal gatekeeper, proxying your requests... run it somewhere other than home, keep everything cached, use it as your only relay, it handles broadcasting out to the relays of your follows, et voila.

it will probably have a name like Wall of Nostr perhaps, and it will be aimed at semi-technical users since the whole point is you know exactly what it's doing, nothing up its sleeve.

maybe i'll start working on such a thing. my friend has also talked about wanting to do this. running portmaster and seeing the clients pull from relays that you aren't using is a bit of a red flag, since one of the purposes, in my view, of relays, is to be selective about who you look at 2nd, 3rd, etc level out the WoT. what i see in the client, of posts that i don't want to see as replies to threads i am following, very often come from relays i don't use.
