a lipid specialist doctor just told me dietary cholesterol, not saturated fat, increases your LDL.
Discussion
The dietary cholesterol, in and of itself, isnt the issue. Its meals high in carbs AND high in fat / cholesterol that does it. Too much of both at the same time will leave the cholesterol lingering longer as the carbs will be metabolized first.
Was he wearing bellbottoms?
Almost everything else he said was reasonable, which was why this made me do a head fake. I tried to throw him a bone with the suggestion of fish being a "safer" alternative protein and he was like "no they have a lot of cholesterol too!"
uh okay
