Not as a hobby, no. Take it as any manual labor, you either go extra fancy (wide knowledge, high skill and expensive machinery required) or extra fast on low costs. It's back breaking either way. I just like that my made things are way sturdier and higher quality, I handpick the patterns and such. But as for cost, it barely breaks the shit Kik or Sinsay sell. Plus work.
As any hobby, it costs unexpected sumsπ

I'm now for the kid sewing orange pants with monstertrucks all over, that will be widely adored across preschool classπ It's easier to sew for kids, because they don't vary in size much, so just a bought pattern works. For adults it requires some 3d modeling and calculations in every body, that's too much for a hobby.

Working in my small print farm. I got three printers and two outlets so I can only run two of them. One of them is down for maintenance but not before I print some epic experiments. I might even play around with Slant3Ds portals on some of my newer designs or share/sell them on printables.
i never tried selling 3D printed stuff on this sites
i got 5 printers running with minimal downtime

I have sold some stuff on eBay with mild success. I'm still working on figuring out what products people are looking for.
I have SolidWorks and can design my own products. Let me know if you ever need something designed. I'm trying to figure out ways to grow my business. I have experience designing plastic injection molds for a client of mine which I do that exclusively for them. But I have a background that puts me at a unique advantage for understanding design and build and manufacturing processes. I've over 13 years of experience.
