Here’s an issue I don’t have a solution for yet:

there are a fair number of people whose notes I want to see, but maybe they only come on and write notes once in awhile. And y’all who wrote notes a lot are super fun and entertaining, and just bury the quieter folks.

What do y’all do about this? In the old days there were lists. Is there a nostr way that some of you like to use?

I think about this a lot. In my opinion, we should resist algorithms manipulating the timeline, but I often wonder what and who I’m missing because of time zone differences, infrequent posting, etc.

Agree with this

I suppose if there were open source solutions that one could implement like plug-ins or scripts one could use at will that would be okay (I’m not a coder so that’s not really my wheelhouse, I do some visual programming in software environments but that’s it)

Same here, I would love to have multiple follows lists.

I have a barebones list of my own in a notepad but damn it’s tedious copy-pasting

My follows list is the product of hours of grinding out based npubs from #Bitcoin Twitter. Strong starting point 🥹

Just a Boomer having fun stacking sats. I was already following you mainly because you’re verified.

If your client is smart it could do "only X posts per person per day, sorted by most liked/zapped", but it would have to fetch all posts in a single go (or use other smartness to get this behavior).

Then clients could also do adaptive sorting/shifting, where it makes sure that you don't get two posts from the same person in a row (e.g. it could adjust the sort, but with some limits, e.g. do at most 1hr timeline shift)

Then there could be another option where the app+relays finds precisely the folks that post at most once per day and the app could have another tab "rare posters" or something like that :)

Yeah, interesting problem. Have the same issue in my music apps. Have a massive library and lose musicians for years, forget their names completely and cannot ever find them again without spending a load of time.

Lists are a great idea 📝

Probably the only feature from Twitter that made it somewhat useable. Only way I could filter out the nonsensical trash post. List would be nice but I can deal without until we work through performance and basic build features.
