What's on my mind: This is my fourth day posting to Nostr, using both the snort.social and iris.to interfaces (I'm composing this post using snort, since snort seems, at least on my computer, to be "buggy").

To compose a new post (as opposed to replying to an existing post) using snort, I must:

1. click on the word "Snort" at the top left, above the word "Posts";

2. click on the "+" symbol at the bottom right of the screen;

3. after which the "What's on your mind?" composition window appears - the one into which I'm now typing;

4. click on the "Send" button at the lower right of this composition window. In several cases, clicking on the Send button has not resulted in my post being sent. Instead, the window remains and I eventually click the "Cancel" button.

Okay, I will now (09:09) click the "Send" button...

The reply was sent and it immediately appeared in the "Notes" tab of my "profile" (see screenshot, below):

The area enclosed in the green rectangle is always present. Clicking on the circular avatar (default is the ostrich image) on the right - I suppose this is the "profile" button - produces what is pictured in the screenshot. Note that the "Notes" tab is selected, and in this tab, the stuff I compose appears.

Clicking on the word Snort on the left opens the following screen - I'll call it the "feed" view:

Note the "+" symbol at the lower right of the feed view. I must click on that symbol in order to produce the composition window.

I don't find this particularly intuitive and I was initially confused and disoriented. Another problem I encountered initially with Snort was latency: annoyingly long periods of time between when I would initiate an action and when the result would be generated. Today, at this moment, the Snort interface seems to be working properly.

Now I'll click on "Reply" (note that the button is now "Reply" and not "Send", since I am replying to an original post).

Note to self: Develop the habit of including hashtags in your Notes.

Since this series of notes discusses the basics of Nostr using the Snort.social interface, I will include some appropriate hashtags.
