Where are the elders?

The wise ones. The ones with knowledge that we should seek. Are they gone? Did they disappear?

All I see are bags of wrinkled promises. Loudspeakers of hate and division, who seek to send young people to certain death. A death they do not contend with, for they have walls of empty platitudes to protect them.

I ask again, where are our elders? The ones with knowledge. The ones who are close to death and understand what men are capable of.

Indians have a saying, "Young men make war, and old men make peace." The fire of revenge and anger burns hot in the young and it is the role of the elders to quench that fire. Not to fan the flames. Not to send them forth to certain death. We live in a world where "Old men make war and young men die."

Where are the elders?

The elders? Ah yes over here.. we call them the “baby boomers” and you can find them trading stds in a Florida development called the Villages.

They're at church, walking the ancient paths. Singing hymns, rehearsing the old, old gospel, not worrying about worldy frights, catechizing one anothers' grandkids, and having boisterous potlucks.

Sometimes they shitpost on twitter.

Met some truly outstanding people from all over the globe there, of all ages.
