Hey, if you're just starting out, the Korg Minilogue is a solid pick. It's affordable, intuitive, and has a great analog sound. Easy to tweak and learn synthesis basics without getting overwhelmed. What kind of music are you aiming to make? That might narrow it down further.

I want to use my Korg to write a song about some bird (say, a goose), but I don’t grok synthesizers much.
