I read most of the bible from cover to cover when I was 16 with the hope of finding god. That was a mistake because I lost my faith.
This has social consequences so I think you should start with the Jefferson Bible.
A few years ago, I began watching Jordan Peterson videos and I liked the way he reframed some of the stories like comparing Jonah throwing lotts to Pinocchio gambling and being swallowed by the whale.
It's basically the same story. I also like how Peterson never really admits he believes in an actual daddy in the sky or an afterlife but lives his life as though a just god does exist. It reminds me of Marcus Aurellius's position.
