Wife: I'm pretty sure you could have said no.
Me: Uhm. The rule is you drink whatever is given to you.
This is how I roll.
Those are the rules.

If I was ugly like you, I wouldn't be afraid of being drugged either.
That is a bad rule.
An older, kind old lady invited our family over for dinner because we were neighbors. She served us tomato juice, and our mom insisted we drink it. Her reasoning was that the lady had taken the time to make it, so we should respect her effort and drink it—even though most kids don’t like tomato juice! We told our mom we didn’t like the taste, but we still had to drink it. Honestly, it was disgusting.
Looking back, I’m sure if we had simply told the old lady we didn’t like the tomato juice, she would’ve offered us something else, like fruit punch or something better. Older people are usually nice like that. I think in my parents’ generation and the lady’s generation, it was common to drink something out of respect, even if you didn’t like it. But I’ve always wondered: why serve kids tomato juice? Most kids don’t like it!
This is part of why kids sometimes dread going to older people’s homes—they’re taught to respect their elders, but not always to speak their truth. You’re told to drink what’s put in front of you, even if you don’t like it.
In hindsight, my parents were wrong about this. I believe that if you honestly tell someone you don’t like something, they’ll do their best to make the situation better. when you tell someone you don't like their juice they will do everything possible to improve the juice
I also roll by that rule.
It's a dumb rule. I was playing guitar for hours last day of #btcprague and somebody, I think it was nostr:nprofile1qqszef2xhdq5yertqezhpqtyxyk5ye2zf7pvdadl4353p0rlvxkngccpzdmhxue69uhhwmm59e6hg7r09ehkuef0eku2tv, was still bringing beers. I don't remember much.
And I don't play guitar.😩
I didn't say it was a good rule.
The rules sound like good advice to me. 😂
🤣🤣🤣
