It's because your using minibits imo. I was having issues with not receiving zaps with them too not that long ago...
Depending on your region and if you use a VPN or not... I've never had any issues with Wallet Of Satoshi in my 2yrs on nostr.
that's so weird. but I am starting to wonder.... am I missing on zaps because I am not using primal's native wallet?
there has been a significant decrease of zaps for a couple of weeks it seems.
and I just noticed how Amethysts shows a different number of zaps vs Primal for one of the prominent new nostriches that just joined.
the other day I also read someone mentioning how anort users are missing on zaps. (don't quite me, might have been a another client).
curious if there something to that?
I have found myself not being able to zap certain accounts on nostr:npub12vkcxr0luzwp8e673v29eqjhrr7p9vqq8asav85swaepclllj09sylpugg and or different posts from the same account have malfunctioned and not taken the zap.
then I also saw a post might have been from nostr:npub1tvqc82mv8cezhax5r34n4muc2c4pgjz8kaye2smj032nngg52clq0rkrq4
honwqs pointing something about his 5000 k zap potentially not arriving and as far as I saw the post he had screenshot did not receive the zap.
thoughts?

I'm pretty sure that issue has been resolved. There were a few issues a few weeks ago, but they pushed an update that I believe corrected the problem.
I wouldn't know. I stopped using them after it took over 4hrs to receive a zap. 🤷
That's not lightning.
It's thunder.
🤣
I'm not actively using Minibits for zaps because I launched my own Lightning node and that's been amazing. Totally flawless sending via NWC and receiving via LN address. But I keep it installed with some sats on balance as a backup. The lightning node has been a real game-changer for me. And I use Alby Go as a front end for it which is also awesome.
This is the way!

In general we need to make education for nodes straightforward and simple to understand....
Maybe you should write about your experience....
I launched the node with nostr:nprofile1qqsf07zg4hxyccnkdp07fppxmetpfzru3fg6mgzx3nk8r7af8qnjjygpz3mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduq3qamnwvaz7tmwdaehgu3wd3skueqpzpmhxue69uhkummnw3ezuamfdejsxj0y5x, which has been a fantastic platform and experience. It's a cloud platform so you don't need dedicated hardware running on your home internet. And it was developed to be a Lightning teaching platform. Their documentation is extensive, and guides users step-by-step through the whole process, explaining the various functions and concepts along the way. I couldn't be happier with it. And there are no required fees other than the normal channel fees. So, it's cheaper than Alby.
Going to look into this. Might be something for some of the new folks joining nostr later down the line.
ALL HIMES NEED A NODE AND MINER!
It's really a great platform for newbies. And the fact that it teaches you about how Lightning works, and the intricacies of node management is an awesome feature because by the time you get it all setup, you're the best pretty much an expert on how nodes work. I would definitely recommend it for first-timers.
