Basically one of the Ln devs left the project last week because he found an vulnerability that can steal users funds in Ln channels.

And it looks like the only solution to prevent this type of attack requires a soft fork to bitcoin core.

So yeh I think lightning development is meeting roadblocks.

We’ve been through worse and honestly it’s good this stuff is happening at a time before most people have even heard of the Lightning network.

Agree with this. Ya cant fix what ya don’t know. I had not known LN until #damus. Plenty of time to get it right or if necessary, to change.

The problem is soft forks now take years to get approved by bitcoin core. The last two were Segwit which enabled lightning in 2017 and Taproot in 2021.

It could take a long time to activate the fix hurting adoption and btc scaling.
